Since 1996, SmartKids Child Care & Learning Center in Washington, PA has served as the child care parents trust to provide quality education. We believe childhood is an essential period of time for growth and development, and through our indoor and outdoor classrooms and learning centers, we strive to help children not only become prepared for success in school, but for success in life as well. We are proud to be a Keystone 4-STAR rated system, and we are open six days a week with extended hours until 8 p.m., unlike most other child care centers. Children from 6 weeks to 12 years old are welcome, and we have age-appropriate curriculums for each age group.

Megan Brucker, Director
Hello! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Megan Brucker and I am very excited to join the SmartKids Childcare and Early Learning Center of Washington, PA as your new Center Director in December 2019.
I have always loved education and am looking forward to creating positive, nurturing, and educational learning environment for the learners of SmartKids! I began my training in education at Carlow University earning a Bachelor’s of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Human Development in 2013. Following being a Lead Teacher for multiple classroom, I returned to Carlow University to follow my passion of creating a learner-centric environment by earning my Masters of Science in Educational Leadership of High-Performance Learning in 2017. I look forward to continuing my education with SmartKids and various professional development opportunities because I believe everyone is a “Life Long Learner”.
I live in Midland, PA with my husband and daughter, Emma. In my spare time, I enjoy movies, baking, and traveling with my family.

Amy Plants, Assistant Director
Hello! My name is Amy Plants and I have been the Assistant Director at SmartKids in Washington since September 1997. I graduated from McGuffey High School. Since my time of employment, I have obtained my Child Development Associate (CDA) and continue to further my education through our Professional Development Courses. During my many years of employment I have been the Lead Teacher in both the Infant and Toddler Rooms. I have been the assistant teacher in both the Preschool and School-Age Rooms. My family consists of my husband Jason, my daughter Paige, and two step-daughters Jenna and Marissa. We live outside of Claysville. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, doing things with family, shopping and enjoying time outside, especially trips to the beach!
While at work, I can be found doing paperwork, listening to a child tell me about their day, or helping someone.
