We believe childhood is an essential period of time for growth and development, and through our indoor and outdoor classrooms and learning centers, we strive to help children not only become prepared for success in school, but for success in life as well. We are proud to be a Keystone 4-STAR rated system, and we are open six days a week with extended hours until 8 p.m., unlike most other child care centers. Children from 6 weeks to 12 years old are welcome, and we have age-appropriate curriculums for each age group.

Nicole O’Brien, Director
Hello! My name is Nicole O’Brien and I have been the Director at SmartKids in Washington since September 2008. I graduated from McGuffey High School and continued my education at Bethany College where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Since being employed at SmartKids I have earned my Director’s Credential and continue to further my education and professional career through our Professional Development Courses.
My husband (Patrick) and I have two children, a girl (Skylar) and a boy (Landon) and we also have a dog (Fiona) and 2 cats (Mo & Bella). We live out in the country and I enjoy being outside and spending time with my family. We really enjoy going camping through the summer and visiting new places. I also volunteer as a teacher during church for school-age children once a month and help with a lot of the other ministries our church provides for the community as well.
I can usually be found in the office at the Washington location so if you have any questions or would like to come and tour the facility please give me a call!
